ZOOX - CLAWITER

Zoox has opened the first-ever serial production facility for purpose-built robotaxis in the U.S. This facility will be utilized for planned growth and robotaxi services at Zoox across multiple markets. Located in Hayward, California, the facility spans 220,000 square feet, equivalent to 3½ American football fields. The other assembly facility, located in Fremont, California, has evolved into a dedicated facility for the Zoox retrofitted test fleet and for sensor pod configuration. On this currently installed line and at full scale, Zoox has the capacity to assemble more than 10,000 robotaxis a year.

This project includes the infrastructure upgrades to a 220,000 sf cold shell finishing construction, new two story office space and a full fit-out of a state-of-the-art autonomous vehicle manufacturing plant, approximately 200,000 sf including MEP and FP provisions for and connections to material storage and handling, large product automated assembly, testing (multiple-mode) and certification.

The scope of work was phased based on the availability of the assembly line design and the definition of infrastructure requirements.

MEYERS+ provided HVAC, electrical connections, compressed air, plumbing and fire protection services. The project was completed in 2024.
