SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO CIVIC CENTERFIRE STATION

The South San Francisco Community Civic Campus includes three separate buildings on an 8-acre site: a multi-purpose facility housing the Library, Parks and Recreation Department, Council Chambers/ Community Theater; a Police Station; and the third phase: the Fire Station.

The new replacement 8000 SF Fire Station will be a modern and safe facility to service the rapidly growing area. The Fire Station will provide increased flexibility, space for three apparatus bays and ancillary support for fire trucks and emergency vehicles. The design will also provide modern living, dining and sleeping facility for both male and female firefighters.

The project delivery method is design-bid-build. MEYERS+ will be the engineer of record for the project.

MEYERS+ is providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing & fire protection and energy modeling services.

ENGINEERING FEATURES

The HVAC systems are designed to maintain relative pressurization between the ‘clean’ and ‘dirty’ sides of the Apparatus bay, with the Day Room, Dormitories, Watch Room and Exercise Rooms positively pressurized to minimize contamination from smoke and hazardous chemicals present in the Apparatus Bay, Turnout and Decontamination spaces.
