SAN FRANCISCO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT TERMINAL 2 BUILDBACK

The project is located in Terminal 2 at San Francisco International Airport. The project includes the demolition of the former control tower and the construction of two new floors for airport operations, airport food & beverage tenants, cafeteria/kitchen/dining area and an open-to-the public observation deck.  The project also included the addition of new gate 50B in Terminal 2, known as the “15th Gate.”

The project is LEED Gold certified.

The project delivery method is Contractor Design- Build where M+ is the engineer-of-record.

MEYERS+ provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing & fire protection, and lighting design services.

ENGINEERING FEATURES

To facilitate installation and maintain schedule,  new Air Handling Unit’s were pre-ordered to enable installation before the new roof was constructed.

M+ issued enabling packages for systems demolition and relocation to make way for the new work, without affecting daily ongoing operations at Terminal 2.
