Mechanical Design Engineer

MEYERS+ ENGINEERS is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our New York office and work on world class design projects with a leading MEP design firm in the architectural engineering consulting industry. We are looking for a communicative person that is comfortable in a collaborative workspace liaising with colleagues and clients on complex building design solutions. The ideal candidate will have a passion for architecture and engineering related to the design and construction of highly sustainable, high performance innovative, and iconic buildings.

Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complete assigned work on time with limited detailed instructions

  • Prepare project deliverables with attention to detail

  • Understand and able to read plans and specifications

  • Interact frequently with clients and other project team members

  • Knowledge of building codes and industry standards

  • Estimate of probable construction costs

  • Perform site visits and issues reports

  • Perform AutoCad/Revit system design and documentation

  • Perform engineering calculations and equipment selection

  • Develop skills for edit/writing specifications

  • Fully functional at building performance simulation as it relates to the discipline

  • Implements the project quality management plan (QMP)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering

  • Requires a minimum of 2 years of industry experience

  • Engineer in Training (EIT)

  • LEED Accreditation
