Electrical Associate - San Francisco


MEYERS+ ENGINEERS is seeking an Electrical Engineer – Associate to join our San Francisco office and work on world class design projects with a leading MEP design firm in the architectural engineering consulting industry.  We are looking for a technically proficient engineer with leadership qualities and project management experience on projects.  The ideal candidate will have a passion for architecture and engineering related to the design and construction of highly sustainable, high performance, innovative, and iconic buildings.

Job Description:
The following job description is a general summary of duties typically performed in this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize electrical and fire alarm systems and communicate design options to stakeholders

  • Develop high quality electrical systems construction documents

  • Develop fire alarm system designs and sequences of operation

  • Prepare electrical technical specifications and calculations

  • Project team organization and management

  • Project planning and forecasting

  • Complete projects profitably and on schedule

  • Develop new client relationships

  • Participate in business development activities

  • Active participant in firm leadership and management

  • Develop proposals and interview for project opportunities

  • Present to clients, staff and at industry events

  • Provide mentorship, training and development for staff

  • Project quality control

Key Competencies and Skills:

  • Experience working on a variety of building types through all phases of a project from schematic design through construction administration

  • Excellent communications skills to enable successful in-person dialogue and relationships with owners, architects and other consultants

  • Inspire and motivate staff – Team player

  • Lead and manage projects successfully and profitably

  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit, SKM Power Tools

  • Engineering calculations and performance simulation software

  • Construction administration experience

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering

  • 7+ Years' Experience

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)

  • LEED Accreditation
