500 FOLSOM TRANSBAY BLOCK 9

500 Folsom is a 42-story residential tower strategically sited in the Transbay District adjacent the Bay Bridge offramp where it welcomes visitors arriving from the East Bay. Rising in a series of stacking volumes and topped with a unique terracotta crown, the tower is an iconic and distinguishing presence in San Francisco’s multifaceted skyline. The building features 428 market-rate units, 109 below-market-rate units, residential amenities including a spa and indoor-outdoor recreation areas, and 289 below-grade parking spaces.  Two mid-rise podiums anchor the tower and form an outdoor paseo that creates a link from Folsom to Clementina Street and Oscar Park beyond.

The project is LEED Gold Certified.

The project delivery method was design-build. MEYERS+ provided the permit & construction documents and construction administration services. M+ is the electrical engineer of record working for Sprig Electric.

ENGINEERING FEATURES

The 12 kV primary service, substations, bus duct riser, meter centers and load centers were coordinated and released early meet an aggressive schedule for temporary certificate of occupancy. 

Residential load centers were pre-fabricated off-site with pre-measured armored cable spools and loaded on carts to speed installation.
